Downtown Canton is throwing its first Oktoberfest—a full day of local beer and food, live music, and contests spread across the district. Admission is free. And since Canton’s DORA is always open, you can grab a beer or cocktail from a downtown brewery or bar and walk it block to block while you take it all in.

Contests
No Oktoberfest would be complete without a little friendly competition, a tradition that dates back to the very first Oktoberfest in 1810.
Beer Stein Holding Contest
Four Downtown Canton breweries each host a qualifying round; the winner from each brewery advances to the Finals on the Plaza.
2:30 PM — WoodShop
3:00 PM — Muskellunge
3:30 PM — Starflyer
4:00 PM — Unfused
4:30 PM — Finals on the Plaza
Prize: A beer stein loaded with gift cards from all four breweries.
Nail Pounding Contest
4 pm at Centennial Plaza under the Rotunda
Prize: Gift cards from three downtown restaurants

Live accordion players and a yodeler (or combo) will move through the crowd throughout the day. More details to come!
