A Walkable Oktoberfest
Grab a Bier and Wander Downtown Canton
Officially kick off autumn on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with an Oktoberfest featuring Downtown Canton’s neighborhood breweries, bars, and restaurants. Discover prost-worthy local flavors with German flair at every stop you choose throughout the district. No lines and no tents! And there’s plenty to do in between bites and pints with free entertainment and games for all ages from 2-9 pm.
Participate in Freundschaftswettkämpfe (friendly competition) for a chance to win gift cards.
Watch Volkstanz (folk dancing) and clap along with Deutsche Volksmusik (German folk music), complete with accordions, yodeling, Dirndls and Lederhosen!
Grab a Bier and wander anywhere in the Downtown Canton DORA. After the music ends, the stars will be out, the lights will be on, and the bars will be open. Finish fall’s first Saturday with a night cap at your favorite local spot.

No Oktoberfest would be complete without a little friendly competition, a tradition that dates back to the very first Oktoberfest in 1810.
Beer Stein Holding Contest
Four Downtown Canton breweries each host a qualifying round; the winner from each brewery advances to the Finals on the Plaza.
2:30 PM — WoodShop
3:00 PM — Muskellunge
3:30 PM — Starflyer
4:00 PM — Unfused
4:30 PM — Finals on the Plaza
Prize: A beer stein loaded with gift cards from all four breweries.
HammerSchlagen Contest
4 pm at Centennial Plaza under the Rotunda
Prize: Gift cards from three downtown restaurants

Centennial Plaza Entertainment
Music begins at 2 pm in Centennial Plaza, and acts will include the German Family Society Dance Troupe, traditional German music groups, roving accordion players, yodelers, and more!
