DORA

Downtown Canton DORA

What is DORA?

The Downtown Canton Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) is an initiative established by the City of Canton within the Downtown Canton Special Improvement District. It permits the outdoor consumption of alcoholic beverages during specific hours, enhancing the enjoyment of community events such as Canton First Fridays, the Canton Farmers Market, and numerous festivals throughout the year.

Operating Hours

The DORA is open daily from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight and during special events approved by the Mayor of Canton.

Important Guidelines

Alcohol Purchase and Consumption

Alcoholic beverages must be bought from participating liquor permit holders and served in the designated plastic DORA cup, known as the “Official Cup,” which can hold up to 16 fluid ounces.

Cup Regulations

Only one Official Cup per person is allowed at any time. Make sure to dispose of your used cup before entering any indoor establishment within the DORA.

Compliance

Violating DORA regulations may result in a $150 fine.
